2. 18 SKETCH SECTIONS.
Yet another problem arose at this point in time. Even though most of the images past this point were exported and uploaded at high resolutions, for some reason, blogger is not letting me click on them to see their full size. As such, I have provided direct URL's to see the full size images. Thanks for your understanding.
The following sections were exported in A3 size.

Description:
The idea of my design stems from the words Form and Fork.
The above datum storey is made completely of glass to provide an openness and so that also the complete form is visible from all angles. Furthermore, the different colours of glass are meant to interact to form a fuller spectrum as the sun moves across the sky. These colours will also be visible through the entire form.
The stairs on this level represent form in a few different ways. Firstly, there are two intertwining spiral staircases which resemble a twist. This is a separate idea that comes into my mind when thinking of form, besides contortion which is what the overall structure is based on. One of the spiral staircases has perfect stairs, but there are different sized balustrades protruding from them showing that form doesn't have to be perfect. This idea is continued even further on the second spiral staircase which has stairs of different depths. Furthermore, the textures that have been applied to the random stairs are there to surprise the user and to also exemplify my point of form not having to be perfect.
The below datum storey is made completely of stone. The reason why there are so many pyramids protruding out of various parts of the design is to create many different angles on the ceiling of the space. Furthermore, as these protrude through the datum, they provide natural light to the underground space as everything above ground is made of glass. The angles that are visible in the ceiling are also continued on the stairs in this space. The stairs are awkwardly shaped with many acute angles. This is continued in the balustrade.
